Position Summary
The Finance and Administrative Director reports directly to the President and CEO and is responsible for Camp For All Foundation’s operational and human resource policies, objectives and initiatives. He/she is responsible for the efficient operations of all accounting aspects on a day-to-day basis and help create and maintain a professional environment where the Camp For All mission may be carried out through high quality programs.

Education / Experience Requirements

      • Minimum Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university
        Advanced degree in Business Administration or CPA, preferable
      • Minimum five years of experience in nonprofit Accounting
      • Minimum five years of experience in management and/or supervisory positions
      • Minimum five years of experience with general Accounting and Human Resources
      • Minimum three years of experience with QuickBooks Pro Accounting software

Essential Duties

      • Oversees and manages the day-to-day activities for Camp in the Houston office
      • Oversees accounting system standards and controls while maintaining and preparing all financial records, statements and reports
      • Responsible for all payroll functions, 401k and employee record keeping
      • Monitors and reports all worker’s compensation claims
      • Ensures timely financial and statistical reports for department, executive and board use
      • Manages the annual budget process from training and assisting staff to Finance Committee and finally board approval
      • Manages insurance (liability, D&O, WC)
      • Serves as the liaison to the Board Treasurer, Finance Committee and external auditors
      • Performs all personnel administration, employee compensation and benefit programs
      • Develops and implements effective Human Resources policies and practices
      • Collaborates closely with President & CEO, Development Director and the Camp Director in recruitment, hiring, orientation, training and evaluation of staff
      • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures and appropriate resolution to employee relations issues
      • Communicates with user group camp directors regarding contracts, invoicing and liability insurance
      • Oversees IT management and needs
      • Continually investigates, evaluates and introduces process improvement suggestion to department managers
      • Creates and fosters positive environment conducive to open discussion of ideas and growth
      • Reads, writes, documents and interprets documents such as Camp For All policies, safety rules and procedure manuals
      • Processes full cycle of all accounts receivable, accounts payable and credit card transactions
      • Maintains flexible work schedule with the ability to work extended hours as needed

Supervisory Responsibilities

      • Managing the day-to-day activities in the Houston office
      • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Camp For All policies and applicable laws
      • Responsible for interviewing, hiring and training employees
      • Appraising performance for employees
      • Addresses complaints and resolves problems
