Boy Scout Troop 1985 Uncover History During Service Day

Houston Chronicle
November 15, 2014

Michelle Iracheta

The boys doing the digging, 17-year-old Travis Pryor, Jr. and 18-year-old Maliq Wright, are part of Boy Scout Troop 1985. Their work was just part of the Sam Houston Area Council Boy Scouts of America’s effort to complete one of the largest days of service by logging 100,000 service Saturday to commemorate the 100th year of scouting in the 16-county council.

One of the reasons that Troop 1985 chose the cemetery is because of the history involved, said Anthony Armstrong, 60, and Scoutmaster of Troop 1985.
