When Cristian is engaged with a client campaign, you can expect confidence and drive coupled with a personal humility and deep sense of fidelity to mission. A seasoned major gift officer with experience in higher education, faith-based institutions and human service, Cristian understands the power of genuine relationships when it comes to giving. For Cristian, major gift fundraising is about inviting friends to partner in a particular mission.
An Oklahoma native, Cristian developed his major gift fundraising skills while on the Advancement Team of Southern Methodist University during the $1.15 billion SMU Unbridled: Second Century Campaign. He served as Vice Chancellor for University Advancement at Arkansas State University and Vice President for Advancement and University Relations at St. John’s University in New York City. Care for aging and ill parents brought Cristian back to Dallas where he served as the Chief Development Officer for The Salvation Army Dallas-Fort Worth Area Command, the largest Salvation Army outpost in the world.
As a Dini Spheris principal, Cristian combines his institutional experiences with lessons he learned during a time as a consultant at the Gonser Gerber firm. Thus Cristian’s clients receive the wisdom of one who has worked in the trenches, one who has lead teams of fundraisers and one who has coached professional fundraisers. Not afraid to innovate or embrace new practices, Cristian recognizes that his greatest assets are his abilities to inspire confidence and forge great personal relationships with teammates, leaders and donors.
Cristian earned a BS in Family Relations and Child Development at Oklahoma State University and a Master of Divinity at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
