Biography

As an enthusiastic go-getter and passionate volunteer, Zulia thrives in approaching new situations head on for her clients. In every client setting, her mission is clear – to help every client realize its vision, improve its organizational effectiveness and create long-lasting change.

Knowing that she wanted to change the world through working with nonprofits, Zulia set off on her academic career, gaining knowledge in leadership, organizational and family behaviors, and credentials as a Certified Nonprofit Professional.

Prior to joining Dini Spheris, Zulia served as Director of Development for Texas School Venture Fund and led its fundraising efforts for three different entities, Neighborhood Schools Inc., WorkTexas at Gallery Furniture and Texas School Venture Fund. This position provided Zulia with intensive experience with frontline fundraising, donor stewardship and nonprofit startup expertise. While serving in her role, Zulia created meaningful relationships with local foundations and individuals, supported the launch of two public charter schools in Houston and was instrumental in creating the schools’ fundraising sustainability plans, leading them to the road to self-sufficiency.

Originally from South Texas, Zulia moved to Houston in 2013 where she attended and graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in human development and family studies with a minor in organizational leadership and supervision. During her time at the University of Houston, she held the role of President for the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance Student Association (NLSA) and the Collegiate Chapter of Association of Fundraising Professionals – Greater Houston Chapter. Zulia is currently an active member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals – Greater Houston Chapter.
