Michelle Buchanan will be teaming up with PSC’s Center for Nonprofit Excellence & Philanthropy to lead a workshop, “Major Gifts and Planned Giving – Nurturing a Future-Oriented Philanthropic Partnership.” This workshop will equip attendees with the knowledge and skills to foster meaningful, future-oriented philanthropic partnerships. Participants will learn that planned giving is not just a category, but a description of a giving approach that benefits both the donor and the cause. The course delves into the different types of planned gifts, including assets with special tax benefits such as stock, life insurance, real estate, annuities, and trusts. The focus will be on understanding the importance of planned giving as a crucial component of a major gift program.

2) Identify and understand various types of planned gifts and their unique features.
3) Develop a strategy to secure planned gifts and establish gift acceptance policies
