CANYONVILLE, Ore. — Dozens of non-profit groups in seven counties, including Douglas, Coos and Lane, have been given a boost.
The Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation has awarded nearly half-a-million dollars to 63 organizations.
The mission of the Foundation is to provide assistance in youth education and put an emphasis on feeding the hungry.
“I think nonprofit organizations are such a pivotal part of our communities because with the loss of government funds throughout the state we’re able to fill in a small part of those so that they can continue to meet the needs of our families in our communities,” said the Foundation’s Carma Mornarich.
In Lane County, Lane Community College and 13 other recipients were awarded nearly $100,000 in grants. Click here to read more.
